Gemvelopes

Linda Janssen recognized a need in the market for a secure travel jewelry pouch. As a result Linda and Isabelle Janssen designed and founded, Gemvelopes. They wanted to ensure, without a doubt, that one’s gems would be safe no matter what one is doing. The creation of Gemvelopes began with a simple trip to the hair salon. A dear friend of the designer’s went to get her hair colored. As she was waiting for her treatment the colorist came over to her chair and kindly asked her to take off her earrings. After she was done, she forgot about them as many of us do. Her friend had many other errands to run in the city before she would go home that day. When she finally made it home, she remembered her diamond earrings. After searching through her bag, she only found one. Linda heard of her friend’s tragedy, and wanted to help her. She could not replace her friend’s favorite pair of earrings, but she did something better. She and her daughter created the gemvelope, to ensure that Linda’s friend would never loose her jewelry again.

Gemvelopes has come a long way since the company was founded in 2008. Currently the pouches are sold all over the world. Linda and Isabelle run the company. They collaborate on all designs and patterns for the company. Isabelle has been instrumental with all facets of the company’s daily activities. Including sales and marketing for the company’s two biggest events of the year, the New York International Gift Show in both January and August.
